Sports and Cultural Society of the Disabled (SCSD) is an Organization of the Person with Disabilities (OPD) specially focus on sports and cultural performances in Bangladesh established in 2006 with the initiative of a group of energetic and committed individuals with disabilities. According to our experience we observed that there is no resource center in Bangladesh for the people with disabilities to enroll them for their recreational and cultural development. They are absolutely deprived of access to resources for their capacity development in performing art and games/sports. But people with disabilities have talents and potentials to make them good performers in the recreational and cultural activities if they are given suitable opportunity of training for performing art and participation in games & sports. Even in spite of having capacity, so many people with disabilities are deprived of participation in the performing art, games & sports programs or in formal places.
In light of above situation, Sports and Cultural Society of the Disabled (SCSD) is implementing sports and cultural programs to promote talent, capacity, employment, psychological development of the people with disabilities in Bangladesh.
